The Corner Store Story…
The Corner Store is housed in one of Sonoma’s oldest and historically significant buildings. In the “old days,” it was a hardware store where people purchased everything from hand tools to mattresses and refrigerators.
The store was unfortunately plagued by fire and burned several times. On one such occasion, the store owner put out the flames with his cache of wine!
The most recent fire in 1991 devastated the building. But Sonoma is a community with soul. Its residents bought bricks to raise the money that helped rebuild this bit of Sonoma history.
Today, the building is occupied by The Corner Store, a boutique gift shop that retains the feeling of a country store, with funky hardwood flooring, a wine tasting counter, and a wide array of imported and domestic home décor and gift items, including unique table, bed and bath linens, colorful ceramics, beautiful pewter accessories, humorous books, luxurious body care products, jewelry and wall art by local artists, and much more—all handpicked for quality, style and distinctiveness.
Now, we invite you to meander through our delightful treasures—an impressive variety of eccentric, hard to find, fun, eclectic, whimsical and reasonably priced products.
